Roos Bruins explains why she wants to help churches have a successful mobile presence
Right now.
“We believe in the future of the church!” When I saw this quote, I thought: who says that and what is the reason, because I want to join them! It turned out to be Donkey Mobile, with an open vacancy for Church Success Manager. After a short application process last January, I can say that I belong to the club that believes in the future of the church.
“As a child, my favorite Sundays were those times we would stay late for coffee after church.”
As a child, my favorite Sundays were those times when we stayed for coffee after church. Now I know: that is part of building a community. And that is still one of my greatest passions: connecting. The world is better off when we connect with each other. Seeking each other in the same instead of constantly distinguishing ourselves from each other. And if there is a place where a great diversity of people come together, it is in a church.
That's why I think it's great that I can help build an app for the church, provide a means to build a community and connect with each other. Especially in this time when everything is going online, the church should not be left behind. The message of the church remains the same, Jesus does not change, the most important commandment is still to love God above all and your neighbor as yourself, but the way we are church is changing. Especially now. And the success that churches can achieve in the field of online technology: that is what I want to contribute to.
“My job is to make sure your church feels comfortable with this enrichment of church life.”
