"I think it's really cool to now support the church at the intersection of technology and support."

Connecting people and sharing a message of hope—that's what I love. I'm fortunate that all of this is reflected in my work at Donkey Mobile. We build apps for the church and enable churches to extend their message beyond the church walls.

That positivity and hope define me as a person and run like a thread through my life. Yet, the path to Donkey Mobile was one with detours and sidetracks. I did my graduation internship at Open Doors Netherlands. There, together with colleagues, I was able to bring hope to the Persecuted Church and connect it with the church in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, when I finished my studies, the Netherlands was in the throes of an economic crisis. So, I went from a communications job to a job as a process operator in a food factory.

During the years I worked there, the desire to connect resurfaced. So, I also took on a role in internal communications at my workplace, alongside my work as a process operator. Because shift work became increasingly difficult to balance with our family, I started looking elsewhere. I then completed a bootcamp training program to become a Fullstack Developer. That led me to the next step: a job as a communications and support officer at Kerkdienstgemist. That role combined four things that are important to me: working from my faith, my fascination with technology, helping people, and supporting the church.

During my years at Kerkdienstgemist, I developed a desire to move further into the tech field. I got that opportunity when Kerkdienstgemist was acquired by Donkey Mobile; I was then able to continue as Technical Church Success Manager. I'm incredibly excited to now work at the intersection of technology and support. In my work, I support the church in properly implementing and optimally utilizing the services of Donkey Mobile and Kerkdienstgemist. This allows them to function as they were designed and built for: building and connecting the church as a community and helping to spread the message of hope.
