How did Android developer Jordy van der Heijden end up at Donkey Mobile?

App should promote community spirit in church

It all started on a Saturday night when I received a photo of a newspaper clipping via WhatsApp. It was a newspaper clipping from the Reformatorisch Dagblad in which a was about an app for churches. The evening was immediately filled... exploring Donkey Mobile. That's how I found out what their vision is, what the team consists of and that they have already received quite a bit of publicity by, among others, the AD, EO Visie and the RD! The more I found out about Donkey Mobile, the more enthusiastic I became.

“How fantastic would it be to be busy full-time with something that really has my heart, namely His church!”

I myself have been wondering for a while how I can do more for God's kingdom. In my spare time I am busy developing the 365x Preken app and the website for my church. You notice that it is not progressing quickly because free time is scarce and is often already filled with social affairs, sports or relaxation. How fantastic would it be to be busy full-time with something that really has my heart, namely His church!
After that Saturday night, everything went very quickly. The following Monday I sent a letter of application, on Wednesday I had a technical interview with Samuël, the iOS developer, and attended the demonstration. What a fantastic design of the app the team, and especially Sietze-Jan, has created! A week later I signed the contract for Donkey Mobile in my own backyard!

De afgelopen jaren ben ik werkzaam geweest als Android en iOS developer bij verschillende bedrijven op nationaal en internationaal niveau. Zo heb ik apps ontwikkeld voor het huren van hoogwerkers, het scannen van je boodschappen in de supermarkt en het digitaliseren van al je plastic pasjes. De opgedane kennis en ervaring kan ik nu gebruiken om DE app voor kerken te maken! Ik ben dankbaar dat Donkey Mobile op mijn pad terecht is gekomen en hoop op deze manier een steentje bij te dragen aan Gods Koninkrijk.
